MS Awareness Week 2023

MS Awareness Week runs from the 24th – 30th of April every year. MS charities across the UK work together to explore how Multiple Sclerosis impacts the people who live with this condition and their families.

As long-time supporters of MS charities such as MS-UK, our team have previously completed fundraising events including the London Marathon and the Three Peaks Challenge. About MS Awareness Week 2023

The theme of this year’s awareness day is #MSMakesMe with a strong focus on how MS makes you feel and raising awareness of the realities of living with MS. This encourages people to speak out about their own experiences of Multiple Sclerosis to help raise awareness.

What is MS?

Multiple Sclerosis or MS is a chronic medical condition that affects your brain and your spinal cord. This can cause a variety of different symptoms and every person can experience MS very differently. Main symptoms of MS include:

  • Fatigue
  • Mobility issues
  • Blurred vision
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Muscle spasms
  • Balance and co-ordination problems
  • Numbness and tingling sensations

What can I do to raise awareness for MS?

You may have MS yourself, be a friend, family member, carer or simply want to help show your support.

There are lots of different ways you can get involved this year. It can be something small and simple or a bigger gesture – every little thing can work together to make a huge difference to many people’s lives!

All the charities involved are encouraging social media users to join the conversation together with the hashtag #MSMakesMe. This is both to spread the word about the emotional and physical impact of MS and to help those with this condition know they are not alone.
