MS Awareness Week 2022
This year from 25th April to 1st May we help to celebrate MS Awareness Week, to raise the profile and support people living with multiple sclerosis.
There are around 130,000 people affected by MS in the UK with approximately 130 new cases every week. There is still no known cure for this neurological condition.
This week we join some of the UK’s leading MS charities to help raise awareness and support those affected.
About MS Awareness Week 2022
The theme for this year’s MS Awareness Week is to help people to understand more about this condition, and specifically highlight ‘unpredictability’.
Why ‘unpredictable’?
Multiple sclerosis is an extremely diverse medical condition that impacts over 100,000 people in the UK, most experiencing extremely different levels of severity and symptoms. MS can impact people in lots of different ways and the main issue that people have to cope with is its unpredictability.
Symptoms can be extremely severe and almost impossible to predict, making life with MS extremely uncomfortable at times.
A new report that was produced by MS Trust earlier in the year called ‘Life-changing: the hopes of the MS community in 2022’, helps to explain more about how people living with MS feel in all aspects of daily life, including work, family, and hobbies.
