Pink Ribbon Foundation join iam|INSURED Charity Scheme
Top rated life insurance specialist iam|INSURED is linking up with leading breast cancer charity the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
As part of iam|INSURED’s ongoing mission and commitment to “support people with pre-existing medical conditions and fund the charities that look after them”, the Pink Ribbon Foundation is the newest addition to its Charity Partnership Scheme.
Some of the activities that will take place over the next 12 months will include fund raising events, blogs and podcasts, awareness days, and providing a valuable support through information for anyone suffering from and people affected by breast cancer.
According to figures from the Pink Ribbon Foundation, there are 55,000 breast cancer cases in the UK per year and 11,500 deaths. Charities play a vital role in supporting people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and helping their families to cope through extremely difficult times.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation is slightly different to normal charities because it’s a grant making Trust which provides financial support to UK charities, having supported over 300 different organisations, (many year-on-year) since it’s inception in 2000. Many of the smaller charities rely solely on fund raising and operate on an incredibly small budget.
iam|INSURED is delighted and extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with such a fantastic organisation. Founder Dan Sharpe-Szunko says “it is a great pleasure and an honour to be working with the Pink Ribbon Foundation, to help raise awareness for people living with and affected by breast cancer.
Through these amazing partnerships it gives us the opportunity to campaign for better treatment and fairness for people with pre-existing medical conditions such as cancer. Having also recently lost a close friend to cancer after her life-long battle with diabetes, this is something that’s extremely close to our hearts”.
Jonathan Prince MBE, Trustee of the Pink Ribbon Foundation, says “The Foundation is delighted to be working with iam|INSURED and we hope this gives individuals with or recovering from Breast Cancer the opportunity to get sensibly priced insurance cover for them and their families.”
Cancer has always been a major challenge in the life insurance and health insurance industry, but through partnerships with incredible charities like the Pink Ribbon Foundation, we can work together towards a greater goal. There is still much that could be done and massive room for improvement to help with access to insurance for people with breast cancer, as well as all other types of cancer.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation (Reg. Charity No. 1080839) is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation has very little infrastructure, it relies on the hard work given by Trustees, interested parties and its Patrons. This is done in order to maximise the amount, which goes to the charities that benefit from the funds raised.
