Is Staysure expensive?

Staysure Insurance travel insurance isn’t overly expensive, and prices often start at less than £20 for single trip cover. Annual cover can be more expensive depending on the destination, but you may offered the option to pay monthly to spread the cost.

The price of travel insurance will always vary from person to person and will usually cost more for older travellers or travellers with medical conditions. The easiest way to save money on travel insurance is to compare quotes from multiple travel insurance companies. This allows you to see which insurers are the most affordable for you, and this may be Staysure or it could be another insurance company.

Other money saving travel insurance tips:

  • Don’t add on extra benefits that you don’t really need.
  • Check if you can tailor your level of cover (e.g. Staysure allows you to adjust the level of cancellation cover for Basic or Signature policies).
  • Compare quotes using a specialist comparison tool (usually has access to a wide range of specialist insurance companies).

Can I get Staysure travel insurance for pre-existing medical conditions?

Like all travel insurance companies, Staysure will ask about your medical history when you apply for travel insurance policy. This helps them to work out how likely you are to claim for medical expenses while on holiday. Their team will then use this information when working out the price of your cover.

Staysure asks a range of questions about your health like:

  • Do you have any undiagnosed symptoms?
  • Are you waiting for any tests, test results, or investigations?
  • Are you on a waiting list for medical treatment?
  • Have you been advised not to travel by a doctor or medical professional?
  • Are you travelling to get medical treatment abroad?
  • Have you been diagnosed with or treated for any medical conditions within the last two years? (Includes mental health conditions)

Staysure may ask for more information about specific medical conditions including:

  • Heart conditions (e.g. Heart attack, angina)
  • High blood pressure  or circulatory conditions
  • Stroke (includes TIA or brain haemorrhage)

Millions of UK holidaymakers will have one or more medical conditions, and Staysure can often offer cover to people with less severe health conditions. In some cases, cover might not be available from Staysure or it might be too expensive. If this happens, you can use a specialist price comparison site to compare medical conditions travel insurance quotes.
