The Exeter HealthWise app adds extra features for members

Leading health and life insurance provider The Exeter has just enhanced their customer benefits through their HealthWise app. This app, accessible to all The Exeter’s customers, offers comprehensive health and well-being support services for you and your loved ones.

Recently, The Exeter introduced several new features for the app, including unlimited access to remote GP appointments and a new NHS repeat prescription service. The Exeter consistently reviews and enhances its offerings (like the HealthWise service) to ensure they deliver great value for their members.

Current members of The Exeter can download the app and log in using their policy details to gain access to health support services 24 hours a day. Here is a quick breakdown of the newly announced and improved features of The Exeter’s HealthWise app and some of the popular benefits that aren’t going anywhere. These features are available for The Exeter life insurance, income protection and health insurance customers.

New features

The new Health MOT service allows The Exeter customers to have a free health assessment from the comfort of their own homes. It is a simple finger prick test which can sent out once per year, which is then followed up a personal report about your results and any next steps needed.

These tests are very useful in spotting early signs of up to 20 potential health issues including diabetes and high cholesterol. Early intervention can make a huge difference and ensure you get prompt treatment to prevent worsening symptoms or outcomes.

You can also now order repeat NHS prescriptions through the HealthWise app, to make it convenient for you to order the medication that you need. HealthWise will allow you to order either private or NHS prescriptions depending on what you need.

Improved features

One of the main improved features for HealthWise is that The Exeter have removed limits on how many online GP appointments can be booked each year.

This means The Exeter customers (and their family members) can now access unlimited online GP support for any health concerns or questions. These appointments can take place via phone call or video call based on what you would prefer.

Overall benefits available

More of the great benefits available through The Exeter’s HealthWise app include:

  • Online health guidance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Second medical opinions (two consultations per year) to assess a diagnosis and offer a new suggested treatment plan where appropriate
  • Specialist physiotherapy consultations (maximum of 6 per year) to help with treatment of musculoskeletal conditions through a network of trained physiotherapists
  • Specialist mental health consultations (maximum of 6 per year) to help treat conditions like anxiety and depression with emotional support. This service also helps with treatment of substance abuse and consultations are via video using the app.
  • Specialist dietician consultations (maximum of 6 per year) with a HCPC registered dietician which can help with overall health as well as treatment of specific conditions such as coeliac disease
  • Specialist lifestyle and nutrition consultations (maximum of 6 per year) to help across multiple areas including stress management and improved sleep schedules

The Exeter’s HealthWise app is available for smartphones and tablets and should be compatible with most devices. You will need to download the app and use your policy details to create an account and log in.

Once you are in the app, you can track your medical history, any consultations you have booked in and can book new appointments with their online GPs. The app has been developed in partnership with SquareHealth, who have also developed apps for other providers like Aviva.

You can find links to download HealthWise through The Exeter’s website or by checking the app store on your phone or tablet. Having these services accessible on mobile devices makes it even easier to access the health support you need while on the go.

The Exeter is an insurance provider that always works hard to come up with innovative policies and features to offer the best value to their customers. These recent changes have been in the works for a while and are just the latest step in The Exeter’s policy improvements.

Use of the HealthWise app has increased over the last year, following the effects of the covid-19 pandemic on the NHS which is now struggling. You can either go to the HealthWise page on The Exeter’s website which contains links to the app for both Android users (Google Play Store) and Apple users (Apple App Store).

You can also search for the HealthWise directly in either of these app stores and it should appear at the top of the search results.

The app has great reviews from current customers of The Exeter, with an overall rating of 4.1 out of 5.0 stars.

YES – The HealthWise app has been developed exclusively for customers of The Exeter and can only be accessed by logging in with your policy details. If you have cancelled your policy (or you don’t have one), you won’t be able to use the HealthWise app.

Luckily, many of the UK’s other brilliant life and health insurance providers can offer similar apps to their customers too. Insurers are always working to be the best which works out brilliantly for customers who want extra benefits alongside their policies. Other providers with similar apps include:
